I absolutely LOVE this book!!

Ok, so a little background. I'm a bookworm at heart. I love books, and growing up, there wasn't a jogging, jumping, let's play ball, bone in my body. SO while everyone else was running around, I more than likely had my nose stuck in a book on the sidelines - I was the moral support. But don't get me wrong I was a geek/bookworm that was still concerned about staying in shape, just not if it included anything involving my running around the park, or catching a ball. So, needless to say I wasn't blessed with that lithe, stream lined looking figure.
Fast forwarding to when I did finally decide to kick staying in shape up a notch or two. I decided I'd try yoga, there was so much to be said about it and it wasn't fast paced - which I liked. I thought it to be a great let's get moving breaker.
So I visited my most loved place in the world - the library : ) I borrowed and went through so many books, tossing each one back for being to detailed -you got lost in it, not enough pictures, just down right boring and so on and so on.
Finally one day I came across this one thinking it wasn't going to be any better, but I was wrong. This book is so easy to follow - a simple how to do each pose along the side, but the PICTURES are what I love, it's just you look at it, and you know EXACTLY what it is you have to do, there's no guessing. The book is broken down in to ten chapters, with several poses in each chapter. Working it's way up from beginner to someone who is more experienced. I love the fact that I can stumble, fall, roll over, and still be stuck on the same post until I get it. For me it was a WHOLE lot easier to follow than a video.
I started noticing a huge difference in a few weeks time after diligently doing it everyday. I looked taller, more put together, and FIT.

Natures Pharmacy

A sliced Carrot looks like the human eye. The pupil, iris and radiating lines look just like the human eye... and YES, science now shows carrots greatly enhance blood flow to and function of the eyes.

A Tomato has four chambers and is red. The heart has four chambers and is red. All of the research shows tomatoes are loaded with lycopine and are indeed pure heart and blood food.

Grapes hang in a cluster that has the shape of the heart. Each grape looks like a blood cell and all of the research today shows grapes are also profound heart and blood vitalizing food.

A Walnut looks like a little brain, a left and right hemisphere, upper cerebrums and lower cerebellums. Even the wrinkles or folds on the nut are just like the neo-cortex. We now know walnuts help develop more than three (3) dozen neuron-transmitters for brain function.

Kidney Beans actually heal and help maintain kidney function and yes, they look exactly like the human kidneys.

Celery, Bok Choy, Rhubarb and many more look just like bones. These foods specifically target bone strength. Bones are 23% sodium and these foods are 23% sodium. If you don't have enough sodium in your diet, the body pulls it from the bones, thus making them weak. These foods replenish the skeletal needs of the body.

Avocadoes, Eggplant and Pears target the health and function of the womb and cervix of the female - they look just like these organs. Today's research shows that when a woman eats one avocado a week, it balances hormones, sheds unwanted birth weight, and prevents cervical cancers. And how profound is this? It takes exactly nine (9) months to grow an avocado from blossom to ripened fruit. There are over 14,000 photolytic chemical constituents of nutrition in each one of these foods (modern science has only studied and named about 141 of them).

Figs are full of seeds and hang in twos when they grow. Figs increase the mobility of male sperm and increase the numbers of Sperm as well to overcome male sterility.

Sweet Potatoes look like the pancreas and actually balance the glycemic index of diabetics.

Olives assist the health and function of the ovaries.

Oranges, Grapefruits, and other Citrus fruits look just like the mammary glands of the female and actually assist the health of the breasts and the movement of lymph in and out of the breasts.

Onions look like the body's cells. Today's research shows onions help clear waste materials from all of the body cells. They even produce tears which wash the epithelial layers of the eyes. A working companion, Garlic, also helps eliminate waste materials and dangerous free radicals from the body.

I'll be the first to admit to anyone that I have the rythym and coordination of a blind monkey with two left feet. So following along with a video has always been a waste of time for me, because while they're going in one direction I am more than likely going in the other, they doing a grape vine across the floor and I'm still suck on trying to pick up the footwork, that I don't even realize we're way past the grape vine and on to much bigger and better things that are way over my rythym challanged self.
And something much slower than this always bores me to tears with the incessant talking that they always seem to do. It's like get on with it already.
I was combing the net one day for different health and fitness tips and well truthfully amke myself feel better for just "looking". I came across YBB from another blog and while again with the monkeys and the left feet.. I always wanted to learn to dance, so I thought "why not?" I made my way over to amazon and bought me my first copy- it was a two disc set The HIPHOP ABS and CARDIO CABARET.
I have to say..I'm no future you think you can dance star, but I can follow along with these easily enough, and I look forward to doing them. The routines are done so that you dont realize you're working out, it's just seems like you're having fun. They are great for cardio. I believe there are other disc to this set that include more mat work.

"I like to move it move it..I like to move it move it"

OK so this blog is mainly going to serve as a jumping start for me..literally! : ) I'm in hopes that it gives me the inspiration to do what I love! Staying in shape.

Yoga, Pilates, jogging and running..especially coming home at the end of the day thowing on those work out clothes and just going at it.. I love it all. There's a cleanse out there that gives me great complexion and promises to help me stay in shape..what!? sign me up, I'm on it! Lets not talk about the endless possibilites you can have with a salad, and fruit.

Let's fast forward 3 years later and one kid under my belt. Honestly at the end of the day now, I jsut want to snuggle up on the couch with a movie and some popcorn or great book and a cup of tea. Jogging, doing yoga, ugh..I still on occasion do those things, but keeping a schedule and being consistent is getting to be a royal pain. Esp, when one doesn't want to go to bed at their bed time and you realize ack it's already ten o clock, well..tomorrow..only to be repeated again the next night.

So hence this blog to hopefully keep me motivated and going. I'm not looking to lose weight jsut get in shape, and if I manage to help myself do so..yay!!! if what I do helps someone else.. even better!!! : )
